Sanya airport to Yalong Bay and the city: the short answer
For a Yalong Bay hotel, the easiest listed option is Airport Bus Line 1. It boards on the first floor of Block C of the commercial complex, opposite Gate 5 of the Domestic Arrival Hall. The fare is tiered, up to ¥25 per adult by coach, so do not plan around one fixed price. Line 1 also stops at Dadonghai Beach and near Sanya Bay; Line 2 goes to Haitang Bay. Taxis, ride-hailing and a rail station are the other options.
Which way to Yalong Bay, Dadonghai, Sanya Bay or Haitang Bay?
| Where you are going | What the airport lists |
|---|---|
| Yalong Bay (亚龙湾) | Airport Bus Line 1 (last stops: Yalong Bay hotels); public buses 124 and 127 to the Yalong Bay bus hub; taxi; ride-hailing |
| Dadonghai (大东海) | Airport Bus Line 1 stops at Dadonghai Beach; taxi; ride-hailing |
| Sanya Bay and downtown | Airport Bus Line 1 stops at Howard Johnson Resort Sanya Bay, Haiyue Square and the Bus Terminal; the airport rail station is one stop from Sanya Station; buses 409 and 425 serve Sanya Railway Station |
| Haitang Bay (海棠湾) | Airport Bus Line 2 to Sanya International Duty-Free City |
Which costs least? The pages can't settle that. The bus fare is capped, the taxi meter rates are published, the public bus page gives no fare, and no page gives a total taxi or ride-hailing price to a resort area.
Sanya airport bus: where to board, fare and times
Both lines board at the first floor of Block C of the commercial complex, opposite Gate 5 of the Domestic Arrival Hall.
Line 1, airport to Yalong Bay. The stops after the airport run: Howard Johnson Resort Sanya Bay (三亚国光豪生度假酒店), Haiyue Square (海月广场), China Everbright Bank, the Bus Terminal (汽车总站), the CPC Sanya Municipal Committee, Dadonghai Beach, Hongsha Community, Jiyang District, the Yalong Bay Road junction, then hotels in Yalong Bay. The Chinese page lists 18 departures a day: hourly from 9:00 to 24:00, then 01:00 and 02:00, marked as the last. The English page lists the same times but leaves the number blank.
Line 2, airport to Haitang Bay. The airport lists hourly departures from 10:00 to 22:00, 13 departures a day, for Line 2 to Sanya International Duty-Free City. Line 2 lists no downtown, Sanya Bay or Dadonghai stop.
Fare. You can get a coach or a 7-seater business van. Both are tiered (分段计费), not flat, and the page gives maximums only. A coach is up to ¥25 per adult and ¥12.5 per child on both lines. The van is up to ¥30 per person on Line 1 and up to ¥35 on Line 2. The airport's Airport Bus pages list no fare per stop. They do not say whether you can pay with cash, Alipay or WeChat, and do not mention foreign cards.
Timetable caveat
The timetable says "departures" without making clear whether the hourly times are from the airport or from the other end. The page says stops, times and service area follow the 海汽行 (Haiqixing) ticket page, and calls its own information a reference only. The airport's Airport Bus pages do not say where to find the Haiqixing ticket page; check the current timetable on Haiqixing before you count on a late bus.
Sanya airport taxi: where is the queue and what does it cost?
The airport's English and Chinese pages give different gate numbers for the taxi queue. Neither is final, so follow the signs and staff to the marked taxi waiting area.
- English page: opposite Gates 3 and 4 on the first floor of the Domestic Arrival Hall.
- Chinese page, T1/T2: the taxi waiting passage opposite Gates 4-5 of the T1 arrival hall (first floor).
- Chinese page, T3: the taxi waiting passage outside Gate 01 of the T3 arrival hall (first floor).
The two pages also give different taxi booking hotline numbers, so we print neither. The English taxi page gives a starting fare of ¥11 for a Type 1 car and ¥10 for a Type 2 car, then ¥2.4 or ¥2.2 per km after the first 2.5 km. The pages do not define the two types. Only the Chinese taxi page adds a longer-distance rate: beyond 10 km it is ¥3.6 per km (Type 1) and ¥3.3 per km (Type 2), and the final fare follows the meter. No page says what a ride to Yalong Bay or Dadonghai costs.
Both pages say to use the taxi waiting area, ask for a receipt and note the plate number. To complain, call the Sanya Transportation Bureau at 12328.
Ride-hailing at Sanya airport: T1/T2 and T3 pickup points
These instructions are on the airport's Chinese ride-hailing page only, and that page names no app or platform.
- T1/T2: on the first floor of the domestic arrival hall, find the area opposite Gates 2 and 3. Go in through the ride-hailing entrance (east or west) and walk along the zebra crossing to the pickup point.
- T3: on the east side of the T3 first floor, find Gate 2. Take the shuttle bus outside Gate 2 to the T3 temporary stop, then walk to the pickup point.
The page says to confirm the exact pickup spot with the driver and not to wait or hail on the no-stopping roadway. If a driver detours or behaves badly, keep the order screenshot and payment record, and complain through the platform or to the Sanya Transportation Bureau at 0898-12328.
Public buses from Sanya airport
Walk out of the terminal to the bus park on the first floor of Car Park 2, opposite Gate 5 of the Domestic Arrival Hall; signs mark the way. The listed lines are:
- 108 and 136: airport to Hongsha Coast police station (红沙海岸派出所)
- 124 and 127: airport to Yalong Bay bus hub (亚龙湾公交枢纽站)
- 33: airport to Nantian Farm (南田农场)
- 409: Sanya Railway Station via the airport to Yazhouwan Laboratory
- 425: Shanhai Yun Longqi Bay via the airport to Sanya Railway Station
The airport's public bus page gives no fare and no first or last bus times. It says the platform sign and the mini-program 车来了 (Chelaile real-time bus) show routes, times and stops.
High-speed train from Sanya airport to Sanya Station
The airport has its own station on the Hainan Ring High-Speed Railway, Fenghuangjichang (凤凰机场). It is connected to the terminals' passenger drop-off platform, and the main entrance is on the west side of Terminal 1. On the Western Ring line, Sanya Station comes right after it. The airport pages do not say how an arriving passenger walks from the arrival hall to the station, and give no train numbers, ticket price or journey time.
These counts come from 12306 English-site searches for travel on 15 October 2026, read on 6 October 2026:
- 36 trains from Haikou stop at Fenghuangjichang, the first arriving at 08:48 and the last at 22:04.
- Of those, 17 come down the west side and reach Sanya Station 9 to 11 minutes after the airport station. The others reach Sanya Station first and the airport after it, so not every train that stops at the airport goes on to Sanya Station.
- 42 trains towards Haikou can be boarded at Fenghuangjichang, the first leaving at 07:05 and the last at 21:57. Second class was ¥117 to ¥155 to Meilan and ¥123 to ¥149 to Haikou East, depending on the train.
Neither search was for the airport-to-Sanya-Station hop, so there is no fare for it here. Search that pair on 12306 for your date. For buying with a foreign passport and the Haikou side, see the Haikou to Sanya train guide.
Arriving on an international flight at Sanya airport
The airport's map page lists maps for the "T1/T2 departure hall", "T1/T2 arrival hall", "International Terminal" (国际航站楼) and "T3", so there is a separate International Terminal. The airport's arrivals guide map for international, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan flights shows six steps: Arrivals, Quarantine, Immigration, Baggage Claim, Customs, Exit.
The pages do not say which T-number the International Terminal is, and neither image shows where to board a taxi, bus, ride-hailing car or train. The ground-transport pages give boarding points only by the Domestic Arrival Hall and T3. After customs, follow the signs or ask at the enquiry desk (问讯) marked on the guide map. The airport's pages also do not say which flights use T1, T2 or T3, so ask your airline.
Landing late at night, and moving between terminals
The only late-night fact on the airport pages is that Airport Bus Line 1 lists a last departure at 02:00; Line 2 ends at 22:00. They say nothing about taxi or ride-hailing hours, public bus hours or the last train from the airport station.
For moving between terminals, the Chinese shuttle page describes two lines:
- Shuttle Line 1: between T1/T2 (the public bus stop, the high-speed rail station and the airport hotel) and T3. Board diagonally opposite Gate 2 on the T1 first floor. Get off at T1/T2 for the rail station, the buses and the airport hotel.
- Shuttle Line 2: between the T3 temporary stop (ride-hailing) and T3. Board at Gate 2 of the T3 transfer centre.
The Chinese shuttle page gives a shuttle hotline but no fare and no operating hours, so we can't say whether it is free or when it stops. For the rest of your stay, see the Sanya travel guide.
