What is the fastest way to get from Guilin to Yangshuo?
The high-speed train. For Wednesday 14 October 2026, 12306's English site listed Guilin to Yangshuo (阳朔) trains taking 20 to 50 minutes: 20 to 25 from Guilin North (桂林北) or Guilin West (桂林西), and 35 to 50 from Guilin station (桂林). Second class showed ¥25 to ¥40, every price with a discount label, so full fares are higher.
Coaches run too, but the Li River scenic area's page gives no fares for them.

Every train figure below is what 12306 showed for travel on 14 October 2026. Timetables and fares change by date, and trains can be paused or re-timed after timetable adjustments. Search your own date before you plan around a train.
Guilin to Yangshuo train times and prices
12306 searches "Guilin" as all three Guilin stations at once and showed 28 results. Five (G3745, D2986, D2987, G3778, G3775) had no time or price, only the note "Ticketing service is temporarily closed due to train timetable adjustment." The other 23 rows were 18 trains. Five trains stop at Guilin station and then Guilin North, so 12306 lists them once from each station, with train numbers 3 apart and the same arrival time: G3744 from Guilin and G3741 from Guilin North both reach Yangshuo at 10:13. For example, D2985 left Guilin North at 07:50 and reached Yangshuo at 08:14 (24 minutes, ¥26 second class). First-class seats were ¥40 to ¥64, and business class, on G trains only, was ¥79 to ¥117.5. Every price shown carried a discount label, from 4% off to 34% off; D2985's ¥26 second-class seat, for example, was labelled 18% off. Full fares are higher, and the prices here are the figures the page displayed. Because five rows were paused, the real first and last trains on your date may differ.

Which Guilin station: Guilin, Guilin North or Guilin West?
On 14 October 2026 Guilin North had the most trains and covered the whole day. Guilin West was quickest, but its trains only ran from 11:02 to 18:30. Guilin station had the fewest trains and the slowest ride, and all five of its trains also stopped at Guilin North. Neither 12306 nor the scenic area says how far each station is from the city centre, so put your hotel and each station name into a map app and compare. Each 12306 row names its station, so read it before you pay.
Where is Yangshuo train station, and how do you get to West Street?
12306 names the arrival station "Yangshuo (阳朔)". The scenic area's page lists 阳朔站 among the rail stations and, separately, a shuttle from "兴坪高铁站" (Xingping high-speed railway station) to Xingping pier. It does not say whether the two names are the same station, so do not assume they are. Buy the station name 12306 gives you.
Neither page gives the distance from Yangshuo station to the county town or West Street (西街), or a bus line, fare or travel time. Check the route in a map app or ask your hotel. The scenic area says that after leaving a rail station you can change to a bus, taxi or ride-hailing to reach the scenic piers. No taxi fare is listed.
One shuttle does name West Street. It runs from Yangdi pier (杨堤码头) to "阳朔车站" or the petrol station at the West Street entrance (西街口加油站), timed to boat arrivals. The page does not say whether 阳朔车站 is the rail station or the coach station.
Can I take a bus from Guilin to Yangshuo?
Yes. The scenic area's transport page says Guilin Coach Station South (桂林汽车客运南站), Guilin Coach Station North (桂林汽车客运北站) and Qintan Coach Station (琴潭汽车客运站) each have coach lines to Yangshuo county town (阳朔县城), Yangdi (杨堤) and Xingping (兴坪), with frequent departures (班次密集).
It publishes no fares, no departure times per station, no station addresses and no journey time. Confirm the fare and the next departure at the station. The page also lists a customised coach "桂林至阳朔" (Guilin to Yangshuo), 09:00-11:00 every 30 minutes, phone 0773-3862128, with no fare, boarding point, drop-off point or journey time. Is there a direct shuttle from Guilin Liangjiang Airport to Yangshuo?
The scenic area lists an "两江国际机场至阳朔定制客运专线" (Liangjiang International Airport to Yangshuo customised coach line). Yangshuo-bound departures run 07:30-18:30, every 30 minutes. Airport-bound departures run 09:00-20:30, every 30 minutes. The listed phone is 18172297643.
The entry gives no fare, airport pick-up point, Yangshuo drop-off point or journey time, and it is listed under Yangshuo's Longtoushan pier (龙头山码头) in the scenic area's transport table, so do not assume it stops at West Street. Can I take the Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo?
The scenic area's "essence" cruise (漓江精华游) sets off from Mopanshan (磨盘山) or Zhujiang (竹江) pier and goes downstream. A 1 September 2026 news item from its management committee says the route is about 60 km and the cruise takes about 4 hours. The scenic area's tour-route page and the committee's news item do not say in words where it ends.
The transport page does list a "customised return tourist line" coach from Yangshuo's Longtoushan pier (阳朔龙头山码头) to Mopanshan and Zhujiang piers at 14:50 and 16:10, phone 0773-8811669. To reach the piers from Guilin, it lists a coach from Guilin Coach Station North at 07:00 and 08:00, and customised city buses from the Guilin station area at 07:00, 07:20, 08:00, 08:30, 09:00 and 10:30. A shuttle from Yangdi pier to Guilin station also exists, timed to boat arrivals.

How do I get back from Yangshuo to Guilin?
For 14 October 2026, 12306 showed 43 results from Yangshuo to Guilin, with some trains listed twice, once per Guilin station. 36 rows had times and prices, and they were 31 trains: D8262, D8266, D8270, G3742 and D1882 were each listed to Guilin North and to Guilin station. The other 7 rows said ticketing was temporarily closed because of a timetable adjustment.

The first train was G3886 at 08:34, to Guilin West. The last was D2984 at 21:15, reaching Guilin North at 21:41. If you must end at Guilin station, the last train that day left Yangshuo at 19:41.
For the last bus, the scenic area's page lists no Yangshuo-to-Guilin coach times. The nearest entry is the airport line, with airport-bound departures 09:00-20:30, and it does not say where in Yangshuo they start. If you plan to come back by coach, ask your hotel for the last departure and keep the train as your back-up.
